Move the TV into a bookshelf or entertainment center that has various shelves. Place books, framed photographs and magazines on the shelves next to the television. When you surround the TV with other items, it is not as conspicuous.
Hang giant paintings on the wall near the television. Draw the attention away from your TV by putting more noticeable decor up on the walls.
Center the television between two windows. The two windows act as a frame, but also compete for your attention to the TV. Or, set the TV beneath smaller windows. The light that comes in from the windows will demand more attention than the TV.
Hide your television inside of a large armoire with closing doors. To watch the TV, simply open the doors; when the television is not in use, you can hide it completely.
Frame your TV, if you have a flat screen, and hang it on the wall. If you frame the border of your TV, you can make it look like a piece of art on the wall.
Hide the TV behind wall tapestries. Move the tapestries aside or pull them up when you are ready to watch television.
