Start with the actual bar. Asses the size of your basement before you install a bar and include the things that you like most. For example, a kegerator is a must-have for beer stocked bars, but your liquor can be set out and displayed, rather than refrigerated.
Set up the seats. To entertain your guests, you need to have adequate seating for them. Opt for bar stools with backs for added comfort. Add some tables and chairs on the other side of your basement for large parties, and throw in a plush seating area if you have space for more intimate gatherings.
Get your tools ready. The tools for a bar include things like glasses, bottle openers, mixers, measuring devices, ice buckets and a recipe book for mixed drinks.
Stock your pub space. The stock is, of course, the alcohol. This will vary depending on your personal taste, but you can have beer, wine, liquor or a combination that can range from the cheap stuff you pick up at the grocery store to high-end bottles that are the most expensive item in your pub, including the bar itself.
Add the extras. To take your pub space to the next level, add things like a pool table, a jukebox and a big-screen television. Now, your friends will really love you.
