Cut a piece of linen so it is 72 inches by 72 inches. Turn it face down on your work surface.
Fold each edge on the top, bottom, right and left sides 1 inch inward. Insert pins every 2 to 3 inches to hold these hems in place.
Sew the hems in place by hand with a tight, tiny running stitch, or use a sewing machine. Remove the pins as you sew.
Lay the fabric in front of you on the work surface. Mark the spots for where the cord ties go with a piece of chalk. Start 1 inch from the left edge and mark each spot approximately 6 inches apart.
Cut a small hole with a utility knife and insert a 6-inch piece of silk cord through each hole. Tie each cord in a knot or bow around the shower curtain rod. Burn the edges of the cord lightly with a lighter so they don't unravel.
