How to Get Canvas to Stick to Brick

You can always hang your canvas artwork to a brick wall using a screw, but you also have the option of gluing it in place. Gluing canvas to a brick surface is not commonly practiced since brick is not a flat surface, and glue can alter the look of the brick. If you ever want to remove the canvas, it will not only be difficult to remove but will leave behind residue.

Things You'll Need

  • Construction adhesive or liquid nails

Instructions

    • 1

Wipe down the brick surface with a damp cloth and allow the brick surface to dry.

    • 2

Bead construction adhesive or liquid nails to the back of the canvas using the applicator. Both products are available at building supply stores.

    • 3

Hold the back of the canvas flat on the brick for three to five minutes, or until it is secure. Move your hands along the border of the canvas during that three to five minutes, and press it into the brick to stick it into place.
