How to Hang Toys From the Ceiling

The bedrooms of children can sometimes become overrun with stuffed animals, dolls, robots, games and color picture books that it can be hard to even find the bed. Most children's toys are not merely to entertain, but to stimulate and encourage their minds as well, making them partly educational. It's hard for toys to offer this full value if they're hard to find or buried under other toys. A suitable way to organize children's toys is to use the ceiling space as a free area to contain them.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a stepladder underneath the ceiling in your child's room and run a studfinder across the surface area of the ceiling. Mark where the studs are.

    • 2

Measure the height from ceiling to floor and write down this measurement. Purchase two plastic chains in festive colors that are as long as your measurement.

    • 3

Screw in a 2-inch wide hook into two of the places where you found studs. Loop one end of each chain through each respective hook.

    • 4

Clip each toy by the corner and attach it to a link in the chain with a large plastic clip. For example, attach dolls by their feet or dresses, stuffed animals by their ears or tails, books by their spinal corners and action figures by their feet or arms. Space out your toys along the chain so that they're all visible.
