How to Decorate a TV Unit

A TV unit contains the TV and provides an area to store videos and other accessories that belong with the TV. Unfortunately, most items that relate to TV-watching are bulky or ugly. However, with a few well thought out strategies, it is possible to make a TV an elegant focal point of the room, or an aspect of the room that blends in with the rest of the room's décor. A variety of decorative strategies can make a TV an enjoyable part of a room, rather than a large eyesore.

Instructions

    • 1

Hang some wall art near the TV console to help the TV blend into the room. You can also place some wall decals behind the TV to help it blend in with the decorations already in the room.

    • 2

Pack gaming consoles, remotes and other TV items into small baskets stacked onto shelves.

    • 3

Place a few books stacked on visible areas of the TV unit. This works especially well if your unit has built-in bookshelves.

    • 4

Place games and videos into baskets, or stack them inside the TV unit like books. If the movies are visible from the exterior of the unit, organize them by alphabet, color or genre.

    • 5

Place a few decorative objects that fit with the theme of the room on the TV unit or in open spaces under the TV shelf. For a country feel, try plants, roosters or other rustic items. For a modern appearance, try lamps, candles or geometric shapes.
