Place LED lights in small paper lanterns and use the lanterns as a table centerpiece. Line up a few lanterns on a table runner, or group them into small groups in the center of large tables. Use lanterns of different shapes and sizes to give the centerpiece more interest, or combine square lanterns with round ones.
Line wedding aisles with paper lanterns. Stick dowels in the ground and use twine to hang the lit paper lanterns. This may look especially nice in a dim space and may be duplicated at an outside reception venue. Lanterns also may be placed on wooden dowels or bamboo and stuck in large containers placed around the venue.
Hang paper lanterns from the ceiling. For a large venue, use several strands of lit lanterns going across one another. For a small space, group lanterns of varying sizes in the center of the ceiling for an eye-catching look. Alternately, one large paper lantern can make a strong statement by itself.
Decorate an outside event with paper lanterns hanging from trees, or wrap pipes with lights, then sit paper lanterns on top of one another on the pipe to create a stick of paper lanterns to place around a party venue.
