How to Clean PVC Wells

Cleaning a PVC well casing is essential for maintaining the health of your family's water. Failing to keep a well clean will result in the growth of bacteria and slime formation. Consulting the information log associated with your well will remind you of the depth, shape and dimensions of the well. Draining or "moving" the existing water column in your well prior to cleaning will ensure you can reach all surface area of the PVC casing. Contact your city or county Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water, for information regarding your well log and the draining or temporary moving of well water.
