How to Decorate a Ralph Lauren Inspired Room

Paint the room in a solid, simple color. Use Ralph Lauren paint or an equal quality paint. Apply it in one solid color or use stripes. If you are using a particularly bold color, such as red, use it only on one wall as an accent color. Paint the walls in a bedroom with taupe or brown paint.

Add simple, comfortable textiles to the room. Plaids and stripes are commonly seen in Ralph Lauren display rooms. In a bedroom, hang solid cream curtains, add a chair with brown, plaid upholstery and a comforter with a cream base and a green earthy print on it. Use solid sheets on the bed.

Add small decor elements that match the season. In the winter, use dark, rich colors like those found on leather-bound books. Change the accessories in the spring by adding fresh plants, sea shells and woven or wicker baskets.
