Instructions

  1. Corner "Nursery"

    • 1

Place a large area rug in the most prominent corner of the studio apartment. Choose a rug with a baby theme, like pastel alphabet letters or small teddy bears, to designate this section of the apartment as the nursery.

    • 2

Position the crib in the corner, on top of the area rug. Select a small crib that will save space in the apartment, while providing a comfortable place for your little one to sleep.

    • 3

Position colored plastic bins or large, decorative baskets underneath the crib to serve as your infant's "closet." For instance, reserve one bin for your baby's booties and onesies, another for her baby shampoo, powder, lotion and bath wash, and the last bin for her diapers and baby wipes.

    • 4

Step onto a ladder or step stool and attach a large, adhesive hook to the ceiling. Attach a mesh hammock to the hook, next to the crib to hold your infant's lightweight toys like small stuffed animals or plush building blocks. That will keep them off the floor.

    • 5

Purchase a compact high chair that attaches to a dining chair or one that connects to the table. You won't clutter the studio apartment while providing adequate eating space for your baby.

    Loft Bed Baby Nursery

    • 6

Buy a loft bed for the center of the studio apartment. This will provide comfortable sleeping quarters for you and your mate while leaving the floor space open for all your baby's things.

    • 7

Place an area rug on the floor directly underneath the sleeping area of the loft bed to add color and texture to the living area.

    • 8

Position a small crib against the wall.

    • 9

Place a small armoire on the opposite wall, across from the crib, to store the baby's clothing and toiletries.

    • 10

Include a baby bouncer in the "baby's room," next to the armoire; attach the bouncer to the nearest doorway or on the ceiling to provide your infant with additional seating.

    • 11

Complete the look of the nursery area with brightly colored curtains if there are windows in the new nursery area.
