How to Decorate a Table With Feathers

Feathers are often used in home decor, such as large vases housing collections of peacock and other feathers. Feather flowers are also used as substitutes for real flowers in weddings and other special occasions. Incorporate feathers into your table setting for any type of party or event, but note that guests may end up with feathers up their noses if feathers are used outside on a windy day.

Instructions

    • 1

Work with clean feathers only. Refrain from using feathers you have collected from the ground, as they may contain mites or assorted bacteria. Use feathers you have purchased commercially instead.

    • 2

Use tall, slender vases to make feather arrangements for your table. Create one large arrangement as your main centerpiece with two smaller arrangements flanking it. Use one type of feather per vase or mix and match depending on preference. Feather ideas include peacock feathers, ostrich feathers, pheasant feathers and artificial feathers, which come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors.

    • 3

Spread additional loose feathers around the centerpiece as you see fit. Glue feather boas around the edges of the table if desired or around the edges of the tablecloth if desired.

    • 4

Use small containers to house feather party favors on your table, such as feather hair extensions, feather earrings, feather masks, feather boas and feather fans. Incorporate the feather fans and masks into your feather centerpiece as well.
