How to Decorate a Pixie Room

Most little girls love pixies and fairies, and a bedroom decorated with a pixie theme would be a little girl's dream come true. You can bring your child's imagination alive with decorating touches that bring the magic of fantasy to her bedroom. A pixie theme doesn't have to overwhelm the room, but should include small elements of decor, in addition to an overall girl-pleasing space. Work with your child to pick the colors and designs she loves most, and her pixie-themed bedroom will be the envy of all her friends.

Instructions

    • 1

Paint the bedroom walls soft pink, periwinkle blue or a mint green. White trim will provide contrast and keep the effect from being too strong.

    • 2

Choose bedding, with your child's help. Pink, purple, green or blue bedding will look good. Add plenty of throw pillows in furry material, or in lacy or velvety finishes.

    • 3

Hang a canopy or a circle of netting over the bed.

    • 4

Decorate the wall with a mural or wall decals with images of pixies, fairies and other magical creatures. Flowers, mushrooms and a woodland or meadow background will let your child dream she is there with her magical friends.

    • 5

Display a collection of pixie figures on a shelf or cabinet.

    • 6

String twinkle lights around the window frames for a magical touch at night.

    • 7

Stick glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling and down the top third of the walls.

    • 8

Hang framed pictures or posters of pixies and fairies. White frames will stand out against the painted walls.
