Paint the walls light blue using flat wall paint. Let the paint dry overnight. Apply a second coat, if necessary, for full coverage.
Draw the outline of a ballet dancer on the wall using chalk. Make the design at least 3 feet tall. If you are not comfortable free-hand drawing the dancer, copy the image of a dancer onto transparency paper. Rent an overhead projector from an audio-visual store or borrow one from a local school or church. Project the image on the wall and trace it using the chalk.
Paint the dancer using acrylic paint. Apply one color at a time. Let the colors dry three to five hours before painting on top of them with detail colors. Let the dancer dry overnight. Wipe away any remaining chalk with a damp sponge.
Cut a piece of white tulle that is two times the width of the dancer’s waist and 5 inches wide. Gather one of the length sides up every 1 inch until it is the same measurement as the dancer’s waist. Attach the gathered side of the tulle to the wall, on the dancer’s waist, by using a staple gun. Staple through the tulle and into the wall, to create a tutu.
Paint a round wooden table pink using flat wall paint. Let the paint dry overnight. Measure the circumference of the table. Cut a piece of pink tulle that is two times the circumference of the table. Gather the tulle in 1-inch sections, as you did the dancer’s tutu, and staple through the tulle around the edge of the table.
Place a ballet slipper or other ballet themed rug on the floor.
Hang sheer curtains, such as organza. Choose either white or pink.
Make the bed with either ballet-themed bedding or a solid color that complements the room’s colors.
