How to Measure the Size for a Cabinet Lazy Susan

If you have a kitchen cabinet that you would like to organize, consider installing a lazy Susan. The circular turntable plate that spins with the help of your hand works well for spices or sundry baking items. Measuring the cabinet's inside base will help you determine the size of lazy Susan that will fit.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the kitchen cabinet's door. Remove items from the cabinet's base.

    • 2

Press the end of measuring tape against the back center of the cabinet base. Hold the tape's end in place while pulling the rest of the tape taut across the cabinet's base to the center front. Note the measurement on the tape at the cabinet's center front, but only the measurement for the inside portion of the cabinet.

Press the measuring tape's end into the center right side of the cabinet, and pull the tape taut to the center left side of the cabinet. Note the tape measurement reading for only the interior portion of the cabinet.

Select a lazy Susan that is smaller than the cabinet's measurements. If, for example, your cabinet's base is 14 by 14 inches, then a lazy Susan with a diameter of 12 inches will fit inside the cabinet.
