DIY Bumblebee Party Decorations

No bumblebee party is complete until each guest leaves with a themed treat bag filled with goodies. But finding bee-themed party ware may not be easy. Save precious time and money by repurposing those simple yellow gift bags from your local dollar store into adorable bee-themed party decor. A few simple scrap-booking supplies, such as paper punches, glitter sticker paper, card stock and raffia, are all you need to make adorable bumblebee treat bags to please kids and adults of every age.

Things You'll Need

  • Newspaper
  • Black glitter sticker paper, 1 sheet
  • Bumblebee-shaped paper punch
  • Small yellow gift bag with handles
  • Black card stock, 1 sheet
  • Yellow glitter sticker paper, 1 sheet
  • Hole punch
  • Raffia
  • Metallic silver marker

Instructions

  1. Bumblebee Treat Bag

    • 1

      Cover a sturdy work surface with newspaper and use the bumblebee paper punch to cut bees from the black glitter sticker paper. Cut five bees.

      Peel and stick each black glitter bee to the front of the yellow gift bag in a random-but-pleasing pattern.

      Make a name tag for your treat bag by using the large circle punch to cut one circle from black card stock. Use the bumblebee punch to cut one bee from yellow glitter paper. Peel and stick the yellow bee to the black circle.

      Punch a hole for hanging near the top of the circle, using the hole punch. Attach the circle to the handle of the bag with raffia and tie a pretty bow.

      Write the guest's name on the black card stock circle with a metallic silver marker. Repeat the process from Step 1 to make a treat bag for each party guest.
