Most of us are familiar with the warm and cozy image of Christmas stockings hanging from a crackling fireplace. You might want to recreate this pleasant scene in your own home with stockings or some other type of holiday decoration, but this might be a problem if you have a brick fireplace. Tape won't adhere well to brick, and glue leaves unsightly marks. Drilling into the brick or mortar requires making repairs when the holiday is over. The simplest solution would be to install removable brick clips.
Measure the width of the bricks on the fireplace. Brick clips are manufactured in limited sizes so you will want to be sure that they will fit on your fireplace. They are generally available for purchase at hardware stores, home improvement stores or online.
Hook the bottom end of the brick clip onto the bottom of the brick.
Press upward to depress the spring and then hook the top part of the brick clip onto the top of the brick. If necessary, use a flat head screwdriver or stiff putty knife to push up on the bottom of the brick clip.
