How to Make a Floating Daisy Centerpiece

If you're having a large event or reception and need many centerpieces, floating daisies are an inexpensive and simple option. Gerber daisies come in many colors so your theme colors can be matched to the centerpieces, and the simple floating flowers look elegant without blowing your entire decorating budget. Put together the centerpieces right before the event so they will look their freshest.

  • Large glass bowls
  • Glass floral marbles
  • Water
  • Gerber daisies
  • Scissors
  • Tea light candles

      Place a layer of floral marbles in the bottom of a large glass bowl. These can be found at craft stores and come in many colors. Use colorful ones to add something extra, or clear ones to add texture to the centerpiece.

      Fill the glass bowl roughly three-fourths of the way with water.

      Trim the gerber daisies with scissors. Leave about an inch of the stem intact to help weigh the daisies down a little bit in the bowl.

      Float three to five daisies in each bowl, depending on how large the bowl is and the flowers are. The daisies shouldn't be overcrowded.

      Add several tea light candles to the floating arrangement.
