Purchase Styrofoam balls or floral foam spheres in the size of your choice from a craft store. Small to medium foam balls can be used to drape around chairs, while large ones can provide decorative ceiling hangings or bouquets.
Decide on a color scheme for the silk roses. You can choose a monochromatic theme of all one color or mix multiple colors. Purchase the quantity and color of roses needed. The smaller the Styrofoam balls or floral foam spheres, the less silk rose buds needed.
Cut 2 feet of ribbon per rose ball. Fold the ribbon gently in half without creasing it to create a hanging loop. Glue the ends of the ribbon next to each other on the top of the foam ball using super glue. Push ball pins that are the color of the flowers into the ends of the ribbon to reinforce it.
Cut the silk rose buds from the stems with a wire cutter, keeping leaves attached to the buds for an authentic look, if desired.
.
Open the silk rose bud. Press a ball pin of the same color into the interior bottom of the bud so that the length of the pin protrudes through the bottom of the rose. Push the rose bud into the foam ball. Secure the bud with more pins, if necessary. Continue the process until the ball is covered in silk rose buds and no foam peeks through.
