How to Make a Cut Flower Last Longer With Sugar & Water

Fresh cut flowers add a decorative touch and a pleasant scent to your home. Unfortunately, the beauty only lasts for a few days to a week unless you preserve them in some way. Water alone can keep the flowers hydrated for a short time, but the stems need to be able to draw nutrients to keep the flowers fresh. Use sugar to keep the flowers nourished and vinegar to keep the water from allowing bacteria to form.
