How to Make Wall Flower Hangings

Flowers can add a lovely touch to any home. They are colorful and can add life and vibrancy to your decor. An alternative to the classic bouquet in a vase, though, is to hang your flowers on the wall. You can use silk flowers year-round, or you can hang a vase on the wall and update it with new, fresh flowers each week or so depending on how long your chosen flowers last.

Things You'll Need

  • Fresh or silk flowers
  • Glass antique bottle or aluminum floral holder
  • 24-gauge wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Self-stick hook

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a 12 to 18-inch piece of wire with the wire cutters. If you're using an aluminum vase, which is wider, cut a longer piece, approximately 36 inches.

    • 2

Wrap the piece of wire around the neck of the bottle or the top of the aluminum vase. Start several inches in on the wire so you have a leftover piece. Wrap securely around your vase several times and twist the remaining wire into a loop. Twist the loop together tightly; it will be in back of the bottle or vase, so it will not be seen. Cut off any remaining wire.

Hang your vase on the wall using a self-stick hook that holds at least one pound of weight. Follow the manufacturer's instructions closely, holding down the hook until it's securely fastened on the wall.

Fill your vase with silk flowers or fresh flowers and water.
