How to Make a Floral Centerpiece With Stargazer Lilies

Stargazer lily arrangements make fragrant centerpieces for any special occasion. The lilies feature pink and white star-shaped blooms and a heady floral scent. You can use the vibrant stargazer lily centerpiece to enhance a baby or bridal shower, anniversary or Easter dinner table. Use the lilies as a birthday party table centerpiece if they're the celebrant's favorite flowers. The lilies are eye-catching enough to stand alone, or you can incorporate other flowers, such as tulips, roses or freesia, into the floral arrangement.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill 1/4 of the bottom of a 20-inch clear glass square or cylindrical vase with glass gems. Choose pink gems to coordinate with the flowers, or pick a contrasting color, such as yellow or turquoise, for a vibrant look. Use vintage glass marbles or pearl-inspired beads as additional options.

    • 2

Fill the vase with cool water, leaving a 1-inch head space. Add a floral preservative to ensure a longer-lasting centerpiece.

    • 3

Gather a bouquet of about 10 fresh stargazer lilies; use more or less depending on how full you want the arrangement to be. Use floral scissors to cut the flower stems at varying lengths, such as 2-, 2 1/2- and 3-inches taller than the vase to create an interesting arrangement. Include additional fresh flowers if you desire. Snip the flower stems at angles to aid in water absorption.

    • 4

Insert the flower stems into the vase. Place the tallest stems in the middle and arrange the shorter stems around them. Add stems of greenery, such as ferns, eucalyptus or green hypericum berries to create a fuller appearance and fresh look.

    • 5

Wrap a wide pink or white satin ribbon into a bow around the middle of the vase as a decorative touch. Place the vase in the center of the table and flank it with glass candle holders filled with pink and white votives to create a warm glow.
