How to Make an Artificial Flower Arrangement for a Round Table

An oval or free-standing artificial or silk arrangement is a long-lasting decorative piece for a table. Silk flowers are available all year in a variety of colors and types. Realize that when arranging artificial flowers for a round table the centerpiece will be viewed from all sides. An oblong, rectangular or round bowl, vase, basket or an unusual container will be a fine foundation for the artificial arrangement. Make arrangements for a celebration, home or business with silks in colors to match the room decor.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a piece of dry floral foam to fit snugly into the cavity of the container that the flowers are to be arranged in. Use a sharp knife to slice down through the floral foam. Push the foam into the container to secure it in place.

A tall arrangement can be placed on a round foyer table.

Cut the stem of a rose, Gerbera daisy, lily or other artificial flower with wire cutters to a height that is two to three times higher than the container. If the arrangement is for a decorative table, you can use the full length of the stem for a tall display. Cut four more of this same type of flower at a height that is 2 inches shorter than the main flower.

    • 3

Insert the taller main flower into the center of the foam in the container. Insert the four matching flowers at an outward angle to the front, back and sides of the main blossom.

    • 4

Cut several pieces of greenery that are a few inches shorter than the shorter flower stems with the wire cutters. Fill in the foam with the greenery to disguise the top of it.

    • 5

Cut several flower stems at varying heights that are shorter than the main flower. Insert the stems into the foam at slight outward angles from the center of the arrangement. You can use silk alstroemeria, daisies, small rose buds, chrysanthemums or poinsettia blossoms.

Set the arrangement on a round table. Walk around the floral display to check to see that the arrangement has a pleasing appearance from all angles. Fill in any gaps in the flowers or leaves with more artificial materials.
