How to Arrange a Centerpiece for a Circular Table

Create a workspace by placing the container, filler items and supplies within easy reach of each other on a table or counter.

Begin filling the vase, basket, bowl or other applicable container with the chosen filler items, such as silk or dried flowers, flower pods, ornamental grass, live flowers or other alternative items selected to create the centerpiece.

Arrange the centerpiece items so the colors and textures of the filler items are evenly dispersed throughout the centerpiece to avoid a clumped look.

Position filler items so the centerpiece produces the same balance of style and color displayed throughout the overall design. The visual effect of the centerpiece, whether the container is shaped in a square, round, oblong or triangular form, should look the same from any angle.

Enhance the shape of the centerpiece by incorporating items that can be styled by combining both vertical and horizontal elements around the entire piece. The roundness of the centerpiece, along with draping elements, accentuates the shape of the table.

Place the completed centerpiece in the center of the circular table. Walk around the table to view the piece from all directions. Fill in any areas that seem thin with additional items. Adjust the spread of colors, if necessary, and ensure the overall piece is visually balanced from all angles.
