How to Make Hanging Rose Balls

Roses come in nearly any color, making them an ideal flower choice for home decor and crafts. Use artificial or real roses to create rose balls, which you can suspend from the ceiling. You can use these rose balls to decorate for a wedding, bridal shower, baby shower or for everyday decor. Make roses, dye roses or buy roses in the desired colors. Use white roses for wedding decor, pink or blue for baby decor, and any color to spruce up your home.

  Turn the hot glue gun on so it is ready when you need to use it.

  Select how many Styrofoam balls you want and what size. Bigger balls are easier to work with because you have more surface area. Find Styrofoam balls at craft or discount stores.

  Secure a 2-foot ribbon to the ball by making a loop, overlapping the ends and pressing the ends into the ball with floral pins. Use hot glue to secure the ribbon in place.

  Cut the wire stems off your flowers so you have a stub that is one-quarter inch long.

  Press a pin into the Styrofoam where you want the flower to go.

  Add a drop of hot glue into the pinhole.

  Press the stem of the flower into the pinhole.

  Continue adding flowers around the ball in this manner until it is completely covered. Avoid putting them too close together or they will look crowded.

  Hang the ball from the ceiling using the ribbon and ceiling hooks.
