Choose some of the season's most beautiful fall leaves to be used in table centerpieces. Pick up leaves yourself or go to a local craft store. Purchase preserved leaves for that purpose. It is best to choose a few that are still attached to branches for centerpiece arrangements.
Press fresh leaves between the pages of a book to dry them, iron them between two brown paper bags, or place them in the microwave for a few seconds.
Preserve fall leaves when they are ready by coating them with a clear acrylic craft spray.
Decorate the leaves if desired. Sprinkle them with very fine glitter right after spraying them. Do this before the acrylic has time to dry or use a spray on glitter.
Add berries, nuts and flowers to leaves using floral tape, wire or glue.
Group stems of fall leaves (and accessories via Step 6, if desired) together in a green plant to add a spot of color. Add them to a flowering plant as accent. Use floral wire to insert the leaves. Dress the plant's growing container with foil, colorful paper, fabric, or netting. Put the plant into a decorative container. Apply a bow if desired. Add additional decor.
Add stems of fall leaves (and accessories via Step 6, if desired) to a fresh cut or silk flower table arrangement to add accent color.
Weave or glue leaves into a grapevine, ivy or floral wreath. Add additional accessories like berries, nuts and flowers as desired. Place the wreath in the center of the table with votive or pillar candles in the center.
Using preserved eucalyptus, criss cross several stems together in an X shape. Secure into place with floral wire. Work some stems of fall foliage into the hand-created swag. Add berries, nuts and flowers. Finish off with a bow over the center of the swag. Place in the center of the table, placing large pillar candles on either side.
