How to Make Wood Scented Potpourri

Potpourri has been a favorite in many people's homes as decoration or for the wonderful scents it creates. This wood scented potpourri mix will bring a wonderful aroma of herbs, spices and more into your home for all to enjoy.

2 cups cedar shavings
1 cup balsam
2 cups nutmeg
1 cup dark red rose petals
1/2 cup broken cinnamon sticks
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/8 cup bay leaves
3/4 cup oak moss
3 tablespoons juniper berries
9 drops patchouli oil
5 drops balsam oil
Mixing bowl
Wooden spoon
Container or basket

Instructions

  In a large bowl mix together the cedar shavings, balsam, nutmeg, rose petals, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, oak moss and the juniper berries. Stir them with the wooden spoon.

  Add into the potpourri mixture the patchouli and the balsam oils. Stir these with the spoon to make sure the oils are spread throughout the mix.

  Place the wood scented potpourri mix inside a container or a basket and display somewhere in your home.

  Enjoy the wonderful scent of the woods. If you want you may also add to the potpourri mix small pinecones, nuts or acorns.
