How to Make a Flower Centerpiece

Fresh flowers add such wonderful color and warmth to any home. Make a lovely centerpiece that is simple yet elegant. This centerpiece can be used for an outdoor party or to dress up your dinner table. Add a touch of spring to a guest bedroom or bathroom. Use flowers from your garden or a local florist.

      Choose five to six small vases of varying shape and sizes. Instead of flower vases use small jars or tins that can be found at thrift stores or around your house.

      Set the vases or flower holders on a serving tray. A silver tray makes an elegant centerpiece while a porcelain tray adds a country flair.

      Add the flowers to the vases. Depending on the size of the flowers, add one to three flowers per vase. Cut the stems to fit the vases. For a simple centerpiece add one flower to each vase; use a different color flower for each vase. For variation use a different type of flower for each vase.

      Pour water into vase.s Fill each vase approximately three quarters full; check the water each day and add as needed.

      Place small votive candles in candle holders around the flowers. Light the candles before your party or leave candles unlit if desired.
