How to Make Flower Arrangements With Sliced Limes

With so many different types of flowers and flower arrangements, you'll have no problem designing the ideal flower arrangement for your taste. Slicing citrus fruits such as limes, oranges and lemons adds a unique twist to the arrangement. Fruit slices can sit inside the walls of the vase, or they can be dried out and attached to the flowers within the arrangement. Pieces of dried fruit look best when arranged with flowers on a wreath. If you're looking to create an arrangement using sliced fruit, gather together summer flowers in shades of oranges, reds and yellows for best results.

Instructions

    • 1

Thinly slice three limes. Place them on the inside of all four walls of a clear glass vase. The moisture in the limes will cause them to stick to the glass. Cover the glass with the lime slices as if you're hanging wallpaper. If the vase is large and you need more lime slices, slice more.

    • 2

Fill the vase to the top with full limes. The full limes will help hold the sliced limes in place. Fill the vase with water.

    • 3

Gather together an array of fresh flowers. Cut the flowers so the stems are long enough to reach the bottom of the vase. When creating a summer flower arrangement using green limes, add some yellow daisies, orange tulips and red carnations.

    • 4

Place the flowers into the vase. Organize the flowers so they blend well together. Intermingle the different flower shades so they are spread out and not clumped together. Add some greenery such as eucalyptus greens.

    • 5

Include some tiny spring flowers such as Narcissus. Baby's breath and while lilies of the valley are also an ideal filler for a flower arrangement.
