Instructions

    • 1

Choose a corn broom to use for your wreath. Corn brooms for craft projects can be purchased at local craft stores. Choose a size that will fit the wall or door on which you will hang the wreath. Lay the corn broom on your work surface with the handle facing up.

    • 2

Lay the dried or silk flowers on top of the corn broom. Arrange the flowers until you like the look; place the flowers with the stems facing up towards the handle of the broom. Place larger flowers on top of the corn broom first, adding smaller flowers last. If desired, add dried grasses or silk greenery. Place the grass or greenery on the corn broom first, with the stems facing the handle of the broom then add the flowers. Glue the flowers in place.

Cut a length of raffia, approximately 24 inches long. The length will vary according to the size of your wreath. Wrap the raffia around the center of the corn broom twice, bringing the loose ends to the front of the wreath. Tie a bow with the loose ends, trimming the ends, if necessary. If you want a fuller bow, use two pieces of 24-inch long raffia and wrap both around the wreath twice before tying into bows.

Cut an 8-inch piece of floral wire. Insert one end of the wire through the fibers on the broom handle. Form a loop out of the loose ends. Twist the ends together to secure in place. Hang your wreath from the wire loop. The wreath can be hung on the outside of your front door or on a wall inside your house.
