How to Arrange Flowers in a Bubble Vase

Bubble vases---essentially, round vases that mimic the shape of a bubble and have a wide, ruffled mouth---are the perfect container for ruffly, multi-stemmed flowers that need plenty of room to be displayed to their best advantage. Some flowers, such as sweet peas, can develop mold if they are bunched too tightly in a vase, but a bubble vase gives them room to breathe, letting the flowers in your bubble vase live longer.

Flowers (such as gloriosa lilies, sweet peas, delphinium or poppies)
Bubble vase
Scissors or floral shears

Instructions

  Fill the bubble vase about halfway with cool water.

  Trim the flowers so that they are a variety of heights, ranging from just above the mouth of your bubble face to about 2 inches higher than the mouth of the bubble vase.

  Gather the flowers together into a bunch, holding them loosely by their stems.

  Continuing to hold the stems lightly together, lift the stems so that they are directly above the mouth of the vase.

  Gently release the flowers so that the stems fall at the same time into the vase and the flowers fall loosely, spreading out around the top of the vase.
