Flower Decoration Ideas

Decorating with flowers not only adds to your home's aesthetics, but fills it with various sweet fragrances, as well. The flower-decoration ideas you implement can be used for elegant table settings or whimsical additions to your decor. Think outside the box as you choose pieces in which to display your flowers.
  1. That's a Wrap

    • Create special gifts for your guests to take home after your next dinner party. Place small bouquets of flowers or roses in vials of water. Wrap them in linen napkins. Secure them with ribbons or raffia bows. Set a paper doily on each dinner plate (to prevent possible food contamination) before laying the bouquets in them.

Another method of wrapping your flowers requires you to lay tissue paper on top of corrugated paper and cut them in a rectangle. The size will depend on how long you want your flower stems, as well as the amount of flowers you use in your arrangement. You can place the stems of the flowers (tulips or roses work well) in water vials or wrap them in moist towels and plastic wrap before rolling them in the paper. Staple the paper closed and then hot-glue decorative buttons over the staples. Punch holes on opposite sides of the opening, so you can attach ribbon to the cone and hang from doorknobs or just lay on end-tables and dressers for a shabby chic look.

    Fun With Vases

    • This floral decoration idea also includes heaps of your favorite hard candy. Use short, clear vases in square shapes to hold jelly beans, red hots, or other sweet confections. Place a single Gerber daisy in the center to display in window sills or on book shelves. Consider lining several of these arrangements along your fireplace mantel or across your breakfast table.

    Simply Elegant

    • Line the center of a large punch bowl with floral adhesive and set a tall vase in the center. Fill the bowl with floral foam and add water. Insert lilac stems until they spill out over the bowl. Fill the center vase with water and adorn with more lilacs for a lovely floral centerpiece.
