Principles

• Depending on the training program you find, you will have to learn different principles of design. For example, at the Floral Design Institute in Portland, Oregon, you will be taught the elements of design like form, space, texture, line and color. Also, you will be taught concepts like focal area, balance and unity.

Programs

• There are different kinds of training programs available. Many cities have schools where you can get a vocational degree in floral arrangement. However, if you cannot attend these schools, you can also attend an online school to be certified in floral arrangements. You may also be able to enroll in community programs that teach floral arrangements, but you will not get a degree from these programs.
