Instructions

  1. Several White Flowers

    • 1

Trace the rim of a large fish bowl onto construction paper. Place the paper on a piece of chicken wire. Use your wire cutters to cut the chicken wire two inches wider than the paper circle. Use pliers to bend the edges of the wire over the mouth of the vase, pressing the middle down so that it dips below the rim to hold the flowers in place.

    • 2

Fill the vase three-quarters full with lukewarm water. Insert white lilacs, white hydrangeas and white baby's breath into the wire grid. Use several of the flowers around the edge of the vase to create a fullness that appears to almost spill over the edge. Strip the leaves from several white roses and add them in clusters, so they appear prominently above the other flowers throughout the entire arrangement. Use white sweet peas to fill any gaps in the centerpiece.

    • 3

Fill small, white ceramic vases, about five inches tall, with the remainder of the baby's breath and sweet peas. Place these smaller centerpieces on side tables or end tables to complement the main flower arrangement.

    Calla Lilies

    • 4

Fill an 18-inch-tall cylinder vase with water. Leave about two inches of space at the top. Place the vase on a white doily in the center of a table.

    • 5

Place about one dozen calla lilies in the vase. The stems should be at least 25 inches long. Arrange them so they fan out in different heights above and over the sides of the vase. Pair them with 12 gladiolas that stand higher in the middle than the calla lilies, also in a fan shape. Add eucalyptus leaf accents to complete the floral part of the arrangement.

    • 6

Tie a bow around the top of the vase using white netting or chiffon. Allow the tails of the bow to touch the table beneath the vase. Make an identical bow on the opposite side of the vase for a romantic look. This particular arrangement works well at weddings, but can also be used at garden parties or for a dramatic touch to a romantic evening at home.
