Elegant Red Topiary Decoration Crafts

Nothing is more elegant than a topiary decoration to liven up a home decor or grace the tables of a wedding reception. For only pennies, these breathtaking topiary crafts can be made from red flowers, or berries and floral foam and still have a professional look.
  1. Topiary Ball

    • Red carnations can be used for many purposes.

Red carnations can be turned into an elegant topiary decoration for a home, wedding or any special occasion. These hardy flowers last a long time and the large balls are a conversation piece. Soak a floral foam ball in water and shave off the bottom of the ball before setting it flat on a footed cake plate. Insert carnations with the stems cut to about two inches in length into the ball until the entire ball is covered. Re-saturate the ball each day to keep the flowers fresh for as long as possible.

    Topiary Tree

    • Red roses can be used in a topiary tree reminiscent of "Alice in Wonderland."

Another craft to make is a topiary tree made from red roses and a few basic floral supplies. For an elegant look, use a small urn-shaped container, a wooden dowel, a floral ball, and a dozen or so red roses. A mixture of various shades or one shade of red roses can be used, if desired. The wooden dowel is inserted into floral foam placed in the container and the foam ball, after being soaked in water, is placed on the top end of the dowel. Once the topiary is firmly set, the foam ball can be completely covered with the roses. Use Spanish moss or plant filler to hide the floral foam in the container.

    Topiary Centerpiece

    • Red cranberries add a festive touch to a holiday celebration.

Decorate a dinner table by using red berries to create a topiary centerpiece. A floral foam cone is soaked ahead of time in water and red berries are hot-glued all over the cone to cover it completely. The topiary centerpiece can be placed onto a small round mirror placed in the center of the table, or you can make several topiaries at varying heights and place them together in the middle of the table.
