Tissue-Paper Flower Directions

Tissue-paper flowers are a longer-lasting alternative to real flowers when you are looking to add a floral decorative touch to a table. They are also considerably less expensive than real flowers or even silk flowers. You can make bouquets of tissue-paper flowers to adorn each tabletop in your home or the table at your next dinner party.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the two sheets of tissue paper in half width-wise. Stack and align the four pieces of tissue paper.

    • 2

Accordion-fold the stack of tissue paper from long edge to long edge. Make the folds between 1- and 1-1/2-inches wide. You don't need to measure the width of the folds--just eyeball them.

    • 3

Trim the ends of the folded tissue paper to make them rounded. Wrap the top of a green pipe cleaner around the center of the folded tissue paper to create a stem.

    • 4

Fan out the layers of folded tissue paper to create a full blossom at the top of the pipe cleaner stem.

    • 5

Cut a six-inch tall and two-inch-wide diamond shape from green tissue paper. Twist the diamond across the width to create two leaf shapes.

    • 6

Wrap the pipe cleaner around the twisted center of the two leaves once so the leaves are about halfway down the length of the stem.
