How to Make Beaded Leaf Flowers

Create beaded flowers from purchased or handmade beaded leaves for a special project, such as a floral arrangement for a special occasion. The beaded flowers will work well in a colorful corsage for Mother's Day or as a Christmas gift that will last for years. Purchase stamens in the floral supply area of the craft store to secure in the center of the flower for a more realistic look. Form lilies and daisies with the decorative leaves.

Instructions

  1. Lily

    • 1

Select six beaded leaves for a lily flower. Cut a 6- to 10-inch piece of floral wire to serve as the stem support with the wire cutters.

    • 2

Bend two or three of the stamen pieces in half. Four to six stamens will protrude at the top of the folds. Secure the stamens to the floral wire stem with floral tape.

    • 3

Place one beaded leaf at the top of the wire at the point where the stamen is taped to it. Wrap floral tape around the bottom of the leaf to secure it to the wire. Tear the tape away when the leaf bottom has been wrapped tightly. This is the first petal.

    • 4

Add four more petals to the wire. Floral tape them into place. Attach a sixth petal to the flower stem. Wrap the tape down the length of the stem to add more support.

    • 5

Bend the leaves to shape the curve of the petals.

    Daisy

    • 6

Cut a 5- to 10-inch piece of florist wire for the stem.

    • 7

Secure six to eight beaded leaves to the stem wire with floral tape. Wrap the tape down the length of the stem when the last leaf petal is secured in place.

    • 8

Shape the beaded leaves in a slight slope to give the appearance of a daisy.

    • 9

Glue the pom pom in the center of the daisy with white tacky craft glue.
