Flowers for Girls' Rooms

Few men use flowers in their interior decorating because flowers and floral designs are commonly considered to be feminine decorative accents. For this reason, floral themes, from roses to lilies, are often used in girls' and women's bedrooms. In fact, you can even use specific types of flowers to complement an existing decorating theme. To choose the most appropriate flower or group of flowers for your daughter's, or even your own, bedroom, consider your favorite flowers and colors.
  1. Themes

    • When it comes to choosing flowers for girls' rooms, you may decide to use a floral decorating theme. Some themes to consider that center on flowers include flower gardens and 1960s flower power. Due to their simple lines, patterns and bright colors, these themes are commonly used in a young girl's bedroom. If you want to use floral designs in an older girl's room, try using lotus flowers in Oriental-themed bedrooms or plumerias and hibiscus flowers to complement tropical themes. However, you may use themes interchangeably based on the decorative desires of the room's occupant, regardless of her age.

    Wall Décor

    • Floral designs can represent a theme or just be used to create beautiful wall décor for eclectically decorated rooms. Thousands of wallpaper, border, decals and stencil styles feature a floral design, and can be used to enhance the visual appeal of a bedroom. With the use of wall stencils, you can paint various kinds of flowers in different colors on the bedroom walls to create a cheerful garden scene. For example, you can use the simple lines of daisies to create an atmosphere of innocence or roses to enhance a bedroom decorated in a romantic theme.

    Accents

    • Another way to decorate a girl's room involves using floral items as accents. These can include real or fake flowers placed in the room as well as floral prints used on bedspreads, curtains and rugs. You may also use origami or dried flowers placed in vases or hung from strings to add an Oriental flair to the room. Floral paintings, botanical prints and indoor flowering plants can also be used to add a floral decoration to any room.
