How to Arrange Silk Tulips With a Twist

Bright, colorful and ever blooming, silk tulips can be an inexpensive way to brighten your home or event. For a clever twist, try an arrangement that plays on one of the tulip's many symbolic meanings. The tulip is known as the national flower of Holland as well as the herald of spring and a symbol of perfect love.

Instructions

  1. The Herald of Spring

    • 1

Trim individual silk tulips from their plastic base, if necessary, and strip the stalks of the lower silk leaves while keeping those closest to the tulip blossom.

    • 2

Using a decorative brass horn (available through craft supply stores and online vendors) as your vase. Place individual tulips in the bell of the horn to create the effect of blossoms exploding from the horn. If you have difficulty making the tulips stay in place, attach their stems to a piece of florist's foam secured to the lower bell of the horn with a dot or two of glue.

Complete your arrangement with other emblems of spring, such as silk butterflies, stuffed robins and silk grasses. Prop the arrangement against a mantle or shelf, or set it on a table.
