Silk lilies, carnations, roses and gladiolus with full-length stems are used for urn arrangements that flank both sides of a monument stone. Chrysanthemum bushes with lush silk leaves and rust, yellow or orange blossoms are nice replacements for the urn fillers in autumn. Baskets and vases are filled with over-sized silk flower arrangements and set on the ground at the center or one side of the stone. The arrangements are comprised of life-like iris, tulip, mums, roses and seasonal blossoms.
Silk flowers are picked or inserted into circle, star, heart and pillow forms for a wreath or spray that is placed on to the base or ground in front of a monument. Custom-made military symbols, organization emblems, animals, and mascots are a few of the silk designs that are made to place at the memorial monument. The silk cloth is an ideal material for spray or dye techniques to match the traditional colors of these symbols.
A monument saddle is a metal unit that is secured to the top of the large stone. Silk spring, summer, fall or winter themed flowers are arranged in blocks of foam in the saddle unit. The wire filled plastic stems of the bushes or single blossom flowers are easily manipulated to spread out across the entire length of the top of the stone. A few of the stems are bent to drape down over the side or front of the stone creating the effect that the flowers are part of the monument. Winter saddles filled with large red, white or pink silk poinsettias, white mums and red roses will last throughout the holiday season and beyond.
