How to Make a Fresh Floral Wreath

A fresh floral wreath is a striking and unexpected addition to your home decor. Tailor your wreath for the season by using spring bulbs, bright summer flowers, fall foliage or winter poinsettias. Try a large wreath for the door, or a more unusual treatment with small wreaths hanging from chair backs at your dining table for a special occasion. For a surprisingly simple project, you'll end up with an impressive decoration for your own home or as a gift.

Instructions

    • 1

Soak a floral foam wreath form in cool water until it is saturated.

    • 2

Insert the stems of your base foliage into the foam at various angles to cover the wreath form. Your base foliage should consist of leaves, greenery and small flowers, rather than your featured flowers. Or skip this step and cover the form completely with large flowers for a bold and dramatic wreath.

    • 3

Insert the stems of your larger flowers into the floral foam. You can design your wreath with a large clump of focal flowers in one area, several clumps or evenly distributed throughout.

    • 4

Loop a wide, colorful ribbon through the middle of your wreath to hang it.

    • 5

Place the floral wreath face up in a shallow dish of cool water daily to allow the foam to soak up more water. This should keep your wreath refreshed for up to a week.
