Instructions

    • 1

Trim the rind from the base of the orange so that it sits flat on your platter or in your bowl. Trim the stems of your tulips to 6 inches in length. Remove leaves or excess foliage so that the stem of each tulip is smooth.

    • 2

Cut each drinking straw to match the size of the tulip stems.

    • 3

Insert the tip of the pencil into the top of the orange until it is halfway through. Remove the pencil, leaving a hole through the center of the orange for your flowers.

    • 4

Insert a drinking straw into the hole you created with your pencil. Place the tulip into the drinking straw. The straws keep the flowers standing upright in the oranges. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until each orange contains a tulip.

    • 5

Gather the oranges in a circle on your platter or in your bowl, alternating between pink and purple tulips.
