How to Make Dried & Pressed Flowers

Pressing flowers forces the moisture from them while leaving the colors and the shape of the petals intact. Pressing flowers allows you to preserve blooms to use in crafts or simply as a lovely memento of a garden that you have visited. Creating dried, pressed flowers is a simple pastime that does not require any special equipment.

    • 3

Press down gently but firmly with the heel of your hand, flattening the flower between the paper.

    • 4

Slide the sandwiched flower and paper sheets into the middle of a thick book.

    • 5

Leave the flower between the pages of the book for at least 2 weeks.

Remove the flower when it is completely dry. Handle the flower with care, as it will be fragile.
