How to Put Green Moss on Styrofoam

Styrofoam, which comes in many shapes and sizes, is useful in creating floral arrangements, craft projects, topiaries and other decorations for your home. Green moss is one of many items you can use to cover the Styrofoam base and give your project a more natural appearance. The process is fairly easy and also adds a professional look to your floral design. Green moss is available at craft and hobby stores, discount stores, florists and in many garden supply stores.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay newspaper over your work surface to protect it from the spray adhesive you'll be using.

    • 2

Cut the Styrofoam with sharp scissors or a knife, if necessary, for your craft project. Since it comes in many sizes of balls, sheets, cones and domes, you may already have exactly the shape and size you need.

    • 3

Apply the spray adhesive to the Styrofoam according to the directions on the adhesive's label. Hold up the sheet of moss and spray the back of that, as well.

    • 4

Lay the sheet of green moss over the Styrofoam and press it gently into place. Let it dry completely before continuing the project.
