Berry Vines for Decorations

Bring the berry vine into your home as a decoration accent. Whether you opt for the artificial version or the live berry vines, the possibilities for the bright-colored berries to enhance your design are endless. Trail the vine through the rooms of your home for the holidays or for an autumn design theme.
  1. Foyer

    • A grapevine wreath with berry vines twirled around it greets your guests as they ring the doorbell. As they enter, they notice berry vines wrapped along the banister and down the staircase into the foyer. An antique wooden table at the staircase bottom, contains strands of berry vines strewn between a collection of whitewashed wooden candlesticks on one end and a bowl of glittering fruit on the other. A berry vine drapes along the top edge of the lampshade, giving an interesting wall shadow when lit.

    Wall

    • The berry vines move into your wall decorations as you group several vines together into a thick garland. Use the garland to swag the vines across the room just beneath the ceiling. The vines can swirl around the tops of the windows, or even around the curtain rod, and drape down the sides entangled in the curtains. Group several together into a dark corner and spread them out on the wall with an uplight beneath to give a dramatic sculptural wall effect.

    Live Arrangements

    • Berry vines can become their own sculptural arrangement or be included into a floral one for a table. A white wicker basket with black velvet inside will pop a red berry arrangement or create a tangle of vines with tea lights hidden inside on a mirrored tray for a more modern design. A low-lying floral arrangement with white flowers, such as tulips, mums. lilies or gardenias, can be surrounded with the berry vines instead of greenery, or use the berries as part of the color inside the floral arrangement.

    Holiday Decoration

    • The red berry lends itself to certain holiday decorations. A strand of berry vines can be wound inside the Christmas tree bringing out the color of the berries against the green or wrap the berry vine around several evergreen branches to design a wreath. Create a candy cane appearance to furniture items, such as columns, table legs or banisters by taping white paper around the items and wrapping the berry vines as the red stripe. Sprigs of the berry and vine can be tucked into folded dinner napkins or placed across the plate.
