How to Make a Floral Centerpiece From a Glass Base

A glass base for a floral centerpiece can be a tall vase, a hurricane lamp, a glass bowl or a simplistic mason jar for a hometown, country feel. Floral centerpieces don't have to be ornate to be elegant and breathtaking. Make your own simple glass base floral centerpiece with roses and votive candles. You can make your own floral centerpiece with a glass base and a few items such as glass marbles, painted twigs or floating candles.

Things You'll Need

  • Glass vase
  • 12 roses
  • Glass marbles, color your choice
  • Glitter painted twigs
  • Glass bowl
  • 3 orchids
  • 6 floating candles

Instructions

  1. Rose Centerpiece

      Fill the glass base 1/3 of the way with water.

      Cut the roses into three sizes, placing the tallest roses at the center, with descending sizes around them to make a mound shape with the flowers.

      Add glass marbles to the base, filling it to the top to hide the stems of the roses.

      Insert the glitter-painted twigs into the center of the roses.

      Fill a glass bowl halfway with water.

      Cut three orchids and set them into the water so they float.

      Add six floating candles to the bowl. When it is time for the dinner party, light the candles.
