Tropical Hibiscus Centerpieces and Arrangements

Hibiscus is a vibrant, tropical flower that features a wide range of colors, such as pink, yellow, lavender and red. Originating in Asia and the Pacific Islands, hibiscus is Hawaii's state flower. If you want to give your tropical-inspired party or reception tables a bright pop of color and an authentic vibe, decorate with hibiscus centerpiece arrangements.
  1. Citrus Centerpiece

    • Complement hibiscus' vibrant hues with citrus tones. Create a fresh centerpiece using slices of citrus fruit along with the bright blooms. To create the arrangement, cut lemons, limes or oranges into thick slices and place them into a clear glass vase. Fill the vase with water and insert the hibiscus stems. Go for a monochromatic look by using yellow flowers with lemon slices, or mix it up with pink blooms with orange or lime slices.

    Floating Flowers

    • Design floating flower and candle centerpieces as a creative alternative to traditional vases. Place one green tropical leaf, along with one or two hibiscus flower heads in a tall, cylinder-shaped glass vase. Fill the vase with water, allowing a 2-inch space at the top. Set a floating candle on top of the water and light it.

    Tropical Mix

    • Create eye-catching table centerpiece arrangement by combining the hibiscus with other tropical flowers. Make a full bouquet of lavender and yellow hibiscus, white orchids, pink bird of paradise and coral-hued heliconia. Place the bright bouquet in a crystal vase as an elegant touch, or a natural bamboo vase for a casual, island-inspired look.

    Pineapple Vase

    • For a true taste of the tropics, display vibrant hibiscus blooms in a homemade pineapple vase. To make the vase, slice the top off of the pineapple and cut out the core. Fill a glass, cylinder-shaped candle holder with a piece of cut-to-fit florist's foam that's been soaked in lukewarm water. Slide the candle holder into the center of the pineapple to create a secure fit. Insert the hibiscus stems into the foam to create a bright bouquet that peeks out above the top of the pineapple.
