Determine your budget in purchasing your laminate flooring. The higher the grade, the more money you will pay for your flooring. The grade determines the durability, length of warranty and moisture resistance. It is a good idea to buy the highest-grade laminate that you can afford.
Choose a laminate with an ISO rating of 14001 and 9001. These ratings assure environmental commitments and a quality and well-managed product. Don't depend on the thickness of the board. The thickness does not determine how long your flooring will last.
Look for flooring that contains a dense core and a strong back layer. The boards should also fit together tightly when snapped together.
Try to find a laminate that has at least an AC rating of 3 with a print that is as close as possible to authentic hard wood. If the natural lighting in your room is great, you may also want your laminate to have UV protection to keep the floor from fading.
