Measure one side of a room from one wall to its opposite with the tape measure. For example, let's say the room has a length of 16 feet.
Measure the adjacent wall and write down its measurement. For example, let's say the room has a width of 14 feet.
Multiply the length by the width to get the square footage (16 x 14= 224).
Measure the base of the triangular section of the room. Write down the number.
Measure from the center of the base to the top of the triangular room. Write down the number.
Multiply the base by the height and divide the result by two. For example, if the room's base is 16 feet long with a height of 5 feet, its area is 40 square feet (16 x 5 = 80, 80/2 = 40)
