Instructions

    • 1

Cut a 12-inch circle out of a piece of 1/2-inch plywood. Use a jigsaw to make the cut. Sand the cut edges with medium-grit sandpaper to remove any rough edges. Dust away the sawdust with a dry paintbrush.

    • 2

Attach five eye bolts into the 12-inch circle. Place one in the center of the circle. Place the other four around the edge of the circle, one-half inch in from the edge. Place them at the 12-o’clock, 3-o’clock, 6-o’clock and 9-o’clock positions.

    • 3

Apply a thin coating of lipstick to the top of the eye bolts. Hold the circle with the eye bolts pointing upward. Position the circle above the bed where you want it located. Press the eye bolts against the ceiling firmly to transfer the lipstick.

    • 4

Insert one eye hook into each of the five marks left by the lipstick.

    • 5

Spray-paint the surface of the circle. Choose the same color as your ceiling or the color of the tulle you want to use to blend in. Or, use another color that coordinates with the room's decor. Let the paint dry overnight. If necessary, apply a second coat to fully cover the plywood.

    • 6

Measure the height of the room. Cut 25 pieces of 12-inch-wide tulle. Make the length of the tulle equal to the room’s height plus 12 inches.

    • 7

Gather up one end of the first piece of tulle. Wrap a rubber band tightly around the gathered end of tulle two inches from the end. Place the gathered end of the tulle on top of the same side of the wooden circle that the eye bolts are on.

    • 8

Position the tulle so the rubber band is one inch in from the edge of the circle. Attach the tulle to the circle by stapling through the tulle into the wood using a staple gun.

    • 9

Repeat steps 7 and 8 with the remaining pieces of tulle. Keep the tulle pieces close together.

    • 10

Hang the eye bolts in the circle to the eye hooks in the ceiling. Adjust the tulle placement to allow it to drape around the bed.
