Bruce Lock & Fold Hardwood Floor Colors

Bruce floors come in a wide choice of colors, are easy to install and are sold by dealers throughout the United States and Canada. As the flooring is natural material, you may see variations in floor coloring in each board -- no two boards are alike. Because of the flooring's lock and fold system, it is easy enough to install yourself.
  1. Colors

    • Bruce hardwood flooring is available in colors to suit every consumer taste, along with a choice of woods. Colors and woods include cherry bronze, cherry natural, hickory falcon brown, hickory golden spice, hickory smokey topaz, hickory brandywine, maple amaretto, maple natural, maple russet, oak butterscotch, oak cherry, oak gunstock, oak harvest, oak natural, oak saddle, oak woodstock, walnut autumn and walnut cocoa. All colors are available in either 3- or 5-inch squares.

    Woods

    • In addition to color, consider the type of wood flooring that best suits your environment. Wood species have different hardness levels, affecting the durability. Each type of wood also has a natural color, which affects color staining, and a grain, which affects the appearance. You may also choose to keep the natural look of the wood with clear staining. Further, consider choosing a wood that complements your furniture.

    Lock and Fold

    • Bruce describes its trademarked Turlington Lock and Fold flooring system as "the industry’s fastest and easiest hardwood installation system." This method locks floor planks together with no need for nails, staples or glue. This system saves up to half the time required for regular floor installation. Floor edges simply lock in place, so it is recommended for do-it-yourself installers. The Turlington Lock and Fold flooring system features favorite hardwoods, including maple, oak and hickory. This system has a 25-year warranty.

    Cleaning and Maintenance

    • After installation, follow Bruce's recommendations for cleaning and maintenance to keep the flooring in the best condition. Bruce recommends Armstrong floor cleaners. Clean up spills immediately, and vacuum or dust mop the floor at least once a week. Use a vacuum with a felt or brush head. Place doormats at outside doors to prevent dirt getting on the floor. If you have pets, trim their nails regularly to prevent floor scratches. Keep humidity in the home between 35% and 55%. Place furniture pads beneath heavy furniture legs.
Additionally, use curtains or draperies to protect floors from direct sunshine.
